P.B.I.S.

Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) is a framework or approach for assisting school personnel in adopting and organizing evidence-based behavioral interventions into an integrated continuum that enhances academic and social behavior outcomes for all students.

Penguin Pesos are provided to individual students who demonstrate our core POWER values – Perseverance, Optimism, Willingness, Empathy and Respect – have perfect attendance, and are exceptional when others are not. 

Kids At Hope

Kids at Hope inspires, empowers and transforms schools, organizations serving youth and entire communities to create an environment and culture where all children experience success, NO EXCEPTIONS!

Sanford Harmony

Sanford Harmony is designed to make a difference in how Pre-K through 6th grade students think about and treat each other. By promoting positive relationships between students in Pre-K through 6th grade, this framework promotes respect and understanding of differences among all children. The ultimate goal is to improve student cooperation, empathy and mutual respect as well as foster greater inclusion and connectedness.

Boys at Hope Club

An after-school character education and sports program to help our students, specifically young men, who need extra help in reinforcing positive behaviors. 

Heart-to-Heart Girls Club

An all-girls club that meets once a week to work on self-esteem and team building activities.

Playworks (Recess Initiative)

Playworks helps kids to stay active and build valuable social and emotional skills through play. During recess, students participate in engaging activities that helps build a sense of community amongst students. All students have real choices in how they play. They feel included in games or in imaginative play. They also feel empowered to play on their own or to start activities with other students.

THRIVE NYC Mental Health Consultant

Thrive NYC is a resource that supports students and their families connect with mental health resources outside the school community. P.S. 201Q is assigned one Mental Health Consultant that comes two times a month.
