The PS 201 Penguins have been part of the District 25 basketball league for the past 7 years.  The basketball team is comprised of 4th and 5th grade students, both boys and girls who elect to try out for our team.  Within our league, we schedule games with participating schools and promote teamwork, sportsmanship and above all respect.  Through our practices and games, we work together to develop our individual abilities, our mental awareness, our communication skills, teamwork and our dedication to our teammates.  We also discuss the importance of leadership with our team, often engaging our 5th grade students to become mentors for our 4th grade students. Through our constant collaboration with one another, we have created a positive atmosphere that not only produces great basketball games, but greater accountability amongst the team members.  Each basketball team member understands the importance of their academics and work together.

The PS 201 Penguins Cheerleaders have been part of the District 25 basketball league for the past several years.  The cheerleaders are comprised of 4th and 5th grade students, both boys and girls, who elect to try out for our team.  Within our league, we schedule games with participating schools and promote teamwork, sportsmanship and above all respect.  Through our practices and games, we work together to develop our individual abilities, our mental awareness, our communication skills, teamwork and our dedication to our teammates.  We also discuss the importance of leadership with our team, often engaging our 5th grade students to become mentors for our 4th grade students. On Stage ofrece un equipo de artistas de teatro profesionales que guiarán a los estudiantes en un entorno de taller, con actividades individuales y grupales, mientras crean una producción de teatro musical completamente escenificada. Los estudiantes seleccionarán un tema, aprenderán las habilidades necesarias en actuación, improvisación, escritura, disciplinas vocales, musicales y de danza, y ayudarán a crear accesorios y disfraces que conducirán a una presentación final. El programa culmina con un día de presentación en la escuela para el resto de los grados, además de una presentación final en una hermosa sala de conciertos de clase mundial en Queens College para los padres, familias e invitados.  Ese evento final empareja a los estudiantes con un director profesional, un director de escena, un diseñador de iluminación, un ingeniero de sonido y un equipo para darles a los estudiantes una idea del mundo del teatro profesional.
